NEW STUDENT VISA APPLICATION
PRE ARRIVAL

STEP 1: ONLINE APPLICATION

Students must apply Visa Approval Letter (eVAL) through Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) website at visa.educationmalaysia.gov.my. The application can only be made with UPSI Offer Letter.

Document required to be uploaded:

  1. A valid study offer letter (UPSI).

  2. Academic Result (Completion Letter, certificate, and academic transcripts)

  3. Photo (217 px X 280 px) with white background

  4. Passport Data Page

  5. Health Declaration Form https://visa.educationmalaysia.gov.my/media/docs/Lampiran_B_-_Health_Declaration_Form_For_Applicant.pdf

 

STEP 2: VERIFICATION OF DOCUMENTS BY IMC

IMC will verify the information and document uploaded in the EMGS system.

 

STEP 3: VERIFICATION DOCUMENTS BY EMGS

EMGS will verify the information and documents uploaded in the EMGS system.

 

STEP 4: APPLICATION PROCESSING BY IMMIGRATION DEPARTMENT

The verified application will be processed by Malaysia Immigration Department. IMC UPSI does not have any authority to approve the eVAL.

 

Approval is subject to the authority of the Immigration Department. The student will be able to keep track and get updates on the application progress through EMGS Apps or website visa.educationmalaysia.gov.my/emgs/application/searchForm.

 

STEP 5: DOWNLOAD EMGS APPROVAL LETTER

Once the application’s status reaches 35% in the system, it will be the responsibility of the students to download the EMGS Approval Letter for UPSI online registration purposes.

 

STEP 6: DOWNLOAD ELECTRONIC VISA APPROVAL LETTER (eVAL) FROM EMGS APPS OR WEBSITE

Once visa application approved with progress status at 80%, students can download the eVAL and Travel Authorization from EMGS Apps or website. The eVAL will be valid for 6 month starting from the issuing date. Please email IMC UPSI at newvisa@upsi.edu.my your name and passport number if the eVAL and Travel Authorization has expired by the time you are registering your academic registration with UPSI.  

 

STEP 7: SINGLE ENTRY VISA (SEV)

With the eVAL and Travel Authorization, student must obtain a Single Entry Visa (SEV) at the nearest Malaysian Embassy/ consulate in your home country before purchasing flight ticket and travel to Malaysia.

 

STEP 8: RT-PCR COVID-19 TEST

Students are required to undergo the RT-PCR Covid-19 Test within three (3) days before travelling. The result must be in the form of a certified laboratory report issued by registered medical practitioner. The result MUST BE in English Language (or please provide verified translation).

 

STEP 9: MySejahtera

Malaysia government used MySejahtera application  installed in smartphone as part of COVID 19 pandemic health protocol. Please download the apps via iOS App Store/Google Play Store/Huawei App Gallery and complete the MySejahtera Traveler Module in accordance with instructions provided in the apps.

ARRIVAL

STEP 1: ENTRY INTO MALAYSIA

Students are only allowed to enter Malaysia via Kuala Lumpur International Airport KLIA & KLIA 2 entry points.

 

STEP 2: QUARANTINE PERIOD

Whether or not students are required to undergo Home Surveillance Order (HSO) depends on the Colour of Traveller Card status and RTK-Ag test results upon arrival in Malaysia. For further information please refer to MySejahtera.

 

STEP 3: REGISTRATION AND TUITION FEE PAYMENT

Students are required to do registration and complete tuition fee payment.

Registration:
i. For postgraduate students at Institute of Graduate Studies (IPS)

ii. For undergraduate students at Academic Division
Iii. For tuition fee payment at Student Financial Unit, Bursary

 

All of the departments are located in the main campus (UPSI Sultan Abdul Jalil Shah Campus).
 

STEP 4: PASSPORT SUBMISSION AND MEDICAL CHECK UP

Students are required to bring their passport to the Visa Unit at International and Mobility Centre (IMC) located in the main campus (UPSI Sultan Abdul Jalil Shah Campus) and do medical check-up at UPSI panel clinic (the nearest is just across the road in front of the main campus)

 

STEP 5: PASSPPORT COLLECTION

Students will received e-mail from Visa Unit to collect back their passport once all the immigration related process has been completed by IMC for the students.
