The 9th surge in Malaysia’s Education Development Plan 2015-2025 has outlined online learning to a global level aimed at widening access to education, improving teaching and learning quality, reducing the cost of delivering and highlighting Malaysian IPTs in the international arena as well as fostering lifelong learning in particular among Malaysians.

In order to realize the 9th Rampage of PPPM (PT), every IPT in Malaysia is recommended to offer Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). MOOC is seen to provide an efficient course delivery system, enhance IPT excellence in thrust and expertise and make Malaysia the hub of education.

The MOOC offer at UPSI started in 2015. Up to 2018, 13 courses have been offered and registered under MOOC.

There are 3 types of categories that MOOC can offer: –
